New Plane Released + Major Overhaul: Less Land Impact, Better Textures and More Details!

I have been quite busy these days. For one thing I have released a new plane. A real WW1 classic. The Nieuport 17:

A sleek beauty: The Nieuport 17.

Being the successor of the Nieuport 11, the Nieuport 17 shared its light weight and agility, but was better armed and had a stronger engine.

It was very popular amongst its pilots. Famous Aces like Albert Ball, Georges Guynemer, Charles Nungesser, Billy Bishop and Raoul Lufberry scored many victories flying the Nieuport 17.

The Nieuport also marks a new phase in building for me. Using the latest land impact features I am now able to add much more details on my creations as ever before - whilst saving a significant amount of prims!

Of course I used these new possibilites on my already existing range of WW1 planes as well. Every machine was thoroughly updated and is amazingly close to its RL originals!

The Fokker Dr.1 in the colours of Manfed von Richthofen, the Red Baron

Fast, sturdy and very popular amongst british pilots: The S.E.5a.

A Masterpiece: The Fokker D.VII - the best fighter plane of the war.

The Backbone of the German Luftstreikräfte (Air Force): The Albatros D.Va...

...which was - painted blood red - used by Manfred von Richthofen in the summer of 1917.

The Sopwith Camel. The most successful fighter of the war.

As usual every airplane is available at my Marketplace store. For the next time I plan to release another batch of WW1 planes as well as an overhaul of the rest of my fleet. Stay tuned for more news :-)

Halloween Plane Released!

Halloween is coming and like every year everyone is looking for a special outfit or gimmick for it. So why not eventually swapping the ol' witches broom with something more - cool, like a fighter plane?

Steampunk Biplane Mk2 - Halloween Edition

You can find this lovely Halloween Plane in my store on the SL Marketplace!

The Prog Rock Museum

It's so long that I wanted to blog about this fabulous museum! As the name already betrays its about the colourful and creative (and sometimes pretty whimsical) side of rock music: Prog (if you need this link, the museum is definitely nothing for you)!
The Prog Rock Museum features the artworks of famous bands like Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Genesis, Boston, Rush and many others transposed into the 3D environment of SL - and often quite spectacular as in the themed rooms. Below a few examples:

Boston - Third Stage

The Dream Theater Room

Besides the themed skyboxes the museum also features various other installations. All easily accessable from the TP point:

Very Prog: An ancient amphitheater!

Here be dragons!

This Dali-esque house is the home of a gallery of LP artwork.

Yes, its just as weird and proggy (did somebody said druggy?) as outside.

Led Zeppelin. Famous for gigantic riffs, monstrous drumming and... angels without genitals.

My ass as seen from the Pink Floyd Lounge.

Mike Oldfield's masterpiece: Tubular Bells!

A favourite of mine are the record covers to step-in:

Originally the cover of Spock's Beard's album V did feature me.

Yes, thats a photo from the topographic ocean.

Also poor Emma had her very own Brain Salad Surgery.

Secret Pirate City Discovered - Flotsam!

Sometimes the best way to find an interesting place is sheer luck. I was happily strolling over Blake Sea in my Fokker D.VII when I spotted a peculiar looking floating pirate city called Flotsam south of the Hollywood Airport. After finding a spot to land I started discovering the place.

It soon turned out that Flotsam is - uhm well... special... but best see for yourself:

Interesting first impression: It seems even outlaws have a court!

Authentic pirate refreshments inside. As well as...

...cells! And thats how it looks when I put you in jail.

Besides a obviously well developed judical system Flotsam of course offers everything a real pirate needs. Shops for indispensable things like prostheses, parrots and ships supplies as well as restaurants (my favorite is Mc Sushi), bars, barbershops, etc...

Flotsam is a lovely addition to the blake-sea area with many pirate-related freebies scattered around. Its also participating on the "Great Blake Sea Treasure Hunt". The HUD and information you can get here.

Aley (aka Arcadia Asylum), the creator of the place also told me about a rather uncommon feature the city has: Its actually demolishable! So don't be surprised if someone blows up the bar you were sitting in!
Fortunately the city recovers 5 mins after destruction - plenty of time to enjoy a nice little pirate apocalypse!

You can get everything you need to blow up the city at Napoleon Blownapart - of course for free!

Hmmmmm... bombs!

*slips a few handful grenades in her pockets for later*

Applying for a side-job at the tattoo- and barber-shop.

The 1st.. no 2nd... well 3rd Bank of Flotsam...

...and soon they will have a 4th. Perhaps its not a good idea to have the explosives store nearby.

Lets have a dinner at the two gilded arches.

I think I've seen this fellow in the terracotta army already.

An unexpected degree of nostalgia for a pirate hideout.

Good its not me this time!

You won't buck off this drow, cursed Moby Dick!

Voodoo-shopping!

The underwater-part of Flotsam: Very steampunk, very lovely!

After the family came online I showed them the place too.

Blogging and talking about what to do next.

Great idea! Why not trying the explosives in a field test?

Hell's Angel! Luvia has the talent to find the right outfit for all sorts of places and situations.

Flotsam is indeed one of the most remarkable places I've seen in SL so far. Of course you don't need to blow up the entire city to have fun. You can literally spend hours simply by peacefully discovering or having some pirate RP - but its good to you know you actually can ;-)

Back From Black!

I finished my seven days as Emma's bane and I have to say - it was great! She took over so naturally and really settled into her role as temporary Mistress. I was totally under her command :-)

Here some selected scenes from a week as S-1195:

Bane in a Doll Case,

kneeling at the games room at Dark Wishes,

getting into some trouble,

being a nice and shiny cuddle pillow,

(at various places)

and even posing at a por- well...film set!

After a long day of activities you should keep your bane in a secure place - of course well restrained for her own safety.

Yes, I know most activities (if not all) aren't conform to what is usually understood as "banishment" (points at the link) - but frankly: I couldn't care less. We had our fun together and thats what counts in the end. You don't need to do things by the book (we leave that to gor-player) if they simply naturally work with some empathy and mutual understanding.

Me, Emma, Luvia and Emma relaxing and enjoying my first hours back in charge.
